Why iLEAD + Misti Blue
iLEAD is the strategy. Misti Blue is the soul.
Together, they represent both sides of leadership: professional and personal. iLEAD focuses on strengthening schools, leaders, and systems through strategy, coaching, and consulting. Misti Blue reflects the human side—faith, resilience, and the real-life leadership it takes to keep standing when life doesn’t go as planned. One cannot exist without the other: structure without soul feels empty, and soul without structure lacks direction. Blending the two creates a space where people and systems can grow stronger, wiser, and more whole.
About Misti Green
At different points in my career, I’ve been asked the question: “Where do you see yourself in five years?” For a long time, that question frustrated me. People wanted to know my destination, but rarely asked about the journey, the grit, the grace, the hard lessons, and the faith that brought me here. I’ve learned that my story isn’t just about where I’m going; it’s about how I got here, and the people and moments that shaped me along the way.
From Runaway to Resilient
I grew up a preacher’s daughter, surrounded by high expectations that often felt impossible to meet. At 14, I left home, too young to know what I was doing, but determined to survive. Some nights were spent in juvenile detention, others in halfway houses, and others on the couches of strangers and friends. I learned to navigate life with grit, instinct, and resilience. Those years gave me a deep compassion for students and families fighting their own unseen battles, and a faith that even in the darkest places, God’s hand was steady over me.
Redefining My Path
Four years later, I returned home, a pregnant teen without a diploma, but with a determination to rewrite my story. With the unwavering support of my parents, I earned my high school diploma and went on to earn both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Southern Methodist University. As a young mother on campus, I often brought my son to class, watching him play with Matchbox cars in the back row while I studied. Those years were not only about education; they were about dignity, opportunity, and the grace of people who believed in me.
A Career in Education
I began as a childcare director, responsible for the safety and growth of children from birth through 12 years. Later, I became a teacher in a large urban district, working in high-risk, Title I schools. For seven years, my students taught me lessons in resilience, humor, and grace—they saved me as much as I taught them. From there, I moved into campus leadership, district leadership, and eventually consulting across the nation. Over the past 28 years, I’ve served in classrooms, directed programs, guided turnaround schools, and partnered with districts across the U.S.
The Blend of iLEAD and Misti Blue
Professionally, I created iLEAD Consulting (Instructional Leaders for Excellence, Action, and Development) to strengthen schools, systems, and leaders. Through coaching, strategy, and professional development, I help schools move from surviving to thriving. But there is another side of the work: the human side. That is Misti Blue: resilience, faith, and real-life leadership beyond titles. Together, iLEAD and Misti Blue are two doors into the same mission—to build people, restore hope, and move forward with strength and purpose.
Why I Lead the Way I Do

At the heart of my journey is this truth: the résumé may get you to the table, but your reputation will keep you there. I strive to be the leader, educator, and steady presence I once needed—the shoulder, the protector, the voice of reason when the path wasn’t clear. My leadership is built on credibility, strategy, and structure, grounded in wisdom earned through both success and struggle. I am real, raw, and authentic - you never have to guess where I stand. In five years and beyond, I want people to see not only growth in my accomplishments but also a reputation for faith, resilience, and unwavering integrity.
